Tze Wei and his wife are big fans of Japanese pop culture and their home is a vibrant reflection of this.
Taking inspiration from a selection of the couple’s collectibles, we added Japanese-influences to each room, from the platform bed in the master bedroom, to geometrical tiles in the kitchen and accents of blue and green throughout the apartment. The overall effect, while brilliant and cheerful, also creates a sense of serenity.
We believe strongly in spatial design. Space is relational and a home should be conducive to the flow of daily living. In this home, we kept the cooking area close to the service yard to allow for more ventilation, and a few steps away within the kitchen is the breakfast counter where the couple are able to have a quick meal or use the more formal dining area within the main living room.
In the master bedroom, the platform bed takes centrestage, and we delineated areas for a walk-in wardrobe and a quiet work space which enables the seamless transition from work to rest and play.
